Aceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol 325mg & Serratiopeptidase 15mg Tablet IPAceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol 325mg & Serratiopeptidase 15mg Tablet IPAceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol 325mg & Serratiopeptidase 15mg Tablet IP

Product Description

Aceclofenac 100 mg, Paracetamol 325 mg & Serratiopeptidase 15 mg Tablet IP is an oral fixed-dose combination for short-term management of pain and inflammation in adults. Aceclofenac (NSAID) provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, paracetamol enhances pain relief and antipyresis, and serratiopeptidase (proteolytic enzyme) aids in reducing edema and promoting tissue repair.

Indicated for musculoskeletal disorders, dental/postoperative pain, and mild arthritis symptoms. Prescription-only; adjunct to rest/physiotherapy; efficacy in trials shows 50–70% pain reduction within 1–2 hours, but limited to 5–7 days to minimize risks.

Use

  • Relief of acute pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., low back pain, cervical spondylosis, sprains, strains, sports injuries)

  • Management of pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis (short-term flare control)

  • Adjunctive therapy for dental pain, postoperative pain/swelling, headaches, migraines, and dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)

  • Not indicated for chronic pain, fever alone, or non-inflammatory conditions; avoid in viral infections (e.g., dengue—paracetamol OK, but NSAID risks bleeding)

How it works

This triple combination targets pain, inflammation, and tissue healing through distinct mechanisms:

  • Aceclofenac (100 mg): A phenylacetic acid NSAID that selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-2 > COX-1) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis. This decreases inflammation, pain, and fever at peripheral sites (e.g., joints/muscles). Onset: 30–60 minutes; duration 4–6 hours.

  • Paracetamol (325 mg): Acts centrally in the brain (inhibits COX-3 variant) to elevate pain threshold and reduce fever via hypothalamic action; minimal anti-inflammatory effect. Complements aceclofenac for multimodal analgesia. Onset: 15–30 minutes; duration 4–6 hours.

  • Serratiopeptidase (15 mg): A fibrinolytic proteolytic enzyme derived from silkworm bacteria that hydrolyzes proteins (e.g., fibrin, bradykinin) at inflammatory sites, promoting pus/debris breakdown, improving microcirculation, and reducing edema/swelling. Synergizes with NSAIDs for faster resolution.

Overall: Provides rapid symptomatic relief without opioids; not disease-modifying.

Benefits

  • Multi-targeted relief: Combines analgesic (paracetamol), anti-inflammatory (aceclofenac), and enzymatic (serratiopeptidase) actions for 50–70% faster pain reduction vs. monotherapy (e.g., in post-op trials), effective for acute flares in arthritis/musculoskeletal issues.

  • Enhanced recovery: Serratiopeptidase aids edema clearance (20–30% swelling reduction in studies), shortening downtime for injuries/surgeries.

  • Fever and pain control: Paracetamol adds antipyretic effects for associated symptoms (e.g., headache/fever in dysmenorrhea), with lower GI risk than higher-dose NSAIDs alone.

  • Convenience: Single tablet for short-term use (3–7 days) improves adherence; suitable for adults needing a non-narcotic option.

How to use

Swallow the sustained-release tablet orally with water, typically after meals; do not break, crush, or chew it. Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider. Take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent drug levels. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Never take a double dose.

Side Effects

Common side effects (mild, GI-dominant; 5–15% incidence):

  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite

  • Central nervous system: Dizziness, drowsiness

Less common/rare but serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention):

  • GI: Ulcers, bleeding, perforation (NSAID-related; symptoms: black stools, severe pain)

  • Hepatic/Renal: Elevated liver enzymes (paracetamol/aceclofenac), kidney injury (reduced urine)

  • Allergic: Rash, swelling, anaphylaxis; asthma exacerbation (NSAID sensitivity)

  • Risks increase with duration/alcohol; use the lowest effective dose.
