Product Description

Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg, Bromhexine 4 mg, Guaiphenesin 50 mg, and Menthol 2.5 mg Syrup per 5 ml IP is used to treat cough associated with viscous and excessive mucus in patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). Coughing is the body's mechanism to clear irritants such as allergens, mucus, or smoke from the airways. Coughs are categorised as dry (non-productive) or chesty (productive with mucus). This syrup contains Guaifenesin (expectorant), Bromhexine (mucolytic), Terbutaline (bronchodilator), and Menthol (soothing agent) to facilitate mucus clearance and ease breathing.

Uses

Treatment of cough with excessive mucus.

How it works

This syrup contains four active ingredients:

  • Guaifenesin increases fluid in the airways, reducing mucus stickiness and viscosity for easier expulsion.

  • Bromhexine thins and loosens phlegm in the lungs, windpipe, and nose, aiding coughing.

  • Terbutaline relaxes airway muscles and widens passages to improve breathing.

  • Menthol provides a cooling effect to soothe throat irritation from mucus.

  • Together, they help clear mucus and relieve cough symptoms.
