Product Description
Itopride 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of disorders associated with reduced gastrointestinal motility.
It also helps manage gastrointestinal disorders such as dyspepsia (indigestion), bloating (feeling of stomach tightness due to gas), upper abdominal pain, anorexia (eating disorder), heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
In normal digestion, food moves through the digestive tract (oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine) via rhythmic contractions known as peristalsis, which is referred to as gastric motility. When gastric motility is impaired, these contractions do not function properly, leading to various gastrointestinal issues.
Uses
-
Treatment of Heartburn, Nausea, Vomiting, and Bloating.
-
It is also effective for non-ulcer dyspepsia and other symptoms of reduced gastrointestinal motility.
How it works
Itopride 50 mg Tablet works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, which increases acetylcholine levels in the body. This enhances gastrointestinal peristalsis, accelerates gastric emptying, and facilitates the movement of food through the digestive tract. Additionally, it blocks D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) of the brain, helping to prevent nausea and vomiting.
Benefits
Itopride 50 mg Tablet is a gastroprokinetic agent that improves the movement of food from the mouth through the stomach and intestines. It is used to treat symptoms such as heartburn, vomiting, nausea, bloating (stomach swelling due to gas buildup), non-ulcer dyspepsia (indigestion), and stomach discomfort or pain. Enhancing gastric motility, it reduces heartburn and acts on the brain's chemoreceptor trigger zone to prevent vomiting.
How to use
Take Itopride 50 mg Tablet on an empty stomach, preferably 1 hour before a meal, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.
