Ivabradine Tablets 5mg IPIvabradine Tablets 5mg IPIvabradine Tablets 5mg IP

Product Description

Ivabradine 5 mg Tablet is used to treat symptomatic stable angina pectoris and chronic heart failure. In angina, Ivabradine is recommended for adults whose resting heart rate is 70 beats per minute or higher and who cannot take or tolerate beta-blockers. In adults with chronic heart failure, it is prescribed alongside standard therapy if the resting heart rate is 75 beats per minute or higher. Ivabradine works by selectively reducing the heart rate, thereby decreasing the heart’s oxygen demand and helping to prevent or control angina attacks.

Uses

  • Treatment of symptomatic stable angina pectoris

  • Management of chronic heart failure

How it works

Ivabradine selectively inhibits the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels, also known as "funny" (If) channels, in the sinoatrial node of the heart. This action slows the heart rate by reducing the pacemaker activity without affecting myocardial contractility or blood pressure. By lowering the heart rate, Ivabradine reduces myocardial oxygen consumption, which helps prevent or reduce the frequency of angina attacks and improves heart function in chronic heart failure.

Benefits

  • Reduces heart rate to decrease oxygen demand in patients with angina, helping to control and reduce angina attacks.

  • Improves symptoms and exercise tolerance in chronic heart failure by optimizing heart rate and cardiac output.

  • Does not affect heart muscle contraction strength or blood pressure significantly, making it suitable for patients who cannot tolerate beta-blockers.

  • Helps improve the quality of life by reducing symptoms related to angina and heart failure.

How to use

Take Ivabradine 5 mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.
